The Deciding Difference in Denver
What is a BBL?
Whether through social media, someone you know, or just hearing about it in the zeitgeist, BBL surgery has become a hot talking point in the world of plastic and cosmetic surgery. Pictures of women getting a lifted buttocks and fuller thighs as if overnight. This is done in a relatively simple and straightforward surgical procedure. First, an area of unwanted fatty tissue is extracted using liposuction. This can be from around the midsection, back, face, or arms. Next, the fat is cleansed and purified. It is then inserted into the buttocks and thigh region, adding that lift and volume the procedure has become famous for. The subdermal fat is then smoothed and spread out evenly to contour you into a sexy hourglass frame. Studies have shown that body fat that has undergone this fat grafting process becomes more aesthetically appealing after a BBL surgery.[1]
What is EMSCULPT?
Unlike a BBL, EMSCULPT is a non-invasive body sculpting treatment that works to burn fat and build muscle simultaneously. It works by focusing High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology at the midsection, buttocks, thighs, and many other areas of the body. Then, the HIFEM technology contracts the muscles 20,000 times during a 30 minute session. To put it in perspective, a rep during a workout is equivalent to one contraction. This would be like doing 20,000 situps in 30 minutes time. However, after you are able to move around comfortably without any substantial pain or discomfort. Research has shown that on average patients saw a 20% increase in muscle mass 2 weeks post-treatment.[2]
The Deciding Difference
You may have noticed the differences between the two already. In fact, you may already know which one you’re leaning towards more. If you haven’t caught on to the deciding difference between EMSCULPT and BBL, then simply put it is: BBL surgery adds volume that EMSCULPT does not and EMSCULPT is non-invasive whereas BBL surgery is invasive.
Before and After Photos
Bodacious Benefits
There are many benefits between the two procedures. Which one suits you best?
BBL
Because a BBL surgery uses your own fat tissue through fat grafting, you are in store to get natural looking results. Also, by using your own organic fat, there is no chance of getting an allergic reaction like with implants because your body is well acquainted with the fat being inserted.
Stubborn fat may be incredibly difficult to address through diet and exercise alone. However, with BBL surgery you can lose that pesky fat in your arms, stomach, chest, even cheeks instantly! By liposuctioning your unwanted fat from your body, we can diminish some curves while then accentuating others.
Because real fat is used, this means the buttocks and thighs will react normally to diet and exercise after your surgery. The same methods that help you lose fat will work on your treated areas because that’s just what it is: real fat. And because it is real fat it will respond to weight loss in unison with the rest of your body. So, that means results can last as long as you would like them to and are malleable like the rest of your body’s fatty tissue.
EMSCULPT
Because an EMSCULPT procedure is non-invasive that means there is no downtime required to recover. Also, since no anesthesia is necessary for the procedure you can go about your life right after your session.
The HIFEM technology works to continuously contract the muscles with no rest in between. This forces the muscle fiber to expend the stored fat energy thereby helping shed the fat in the target areas.
When muscles contract they in a way brace for future impact – growing in size so they can be sure to handle the next contraction. This process helps muscles expand and garner strength. With EMSCULPT’s 20,000 contractions in a 30 minute session, your muscle fibers receive an onslaught of muscle growing contractions. This in turn forges stronger legs, abdominals, buttocks, arms, and many more places!
Qualified Candidates
BBL
Candidates for a BBL are people who comfortably reside at a healthy weight with enough superfluous body fat that can be used to graft into the buttocks and thigh areas. If you do not have enough usable fat then you may be asked to gain a little extra in the interim before your BBL surgery.
EMSCULPT
The perfect candidate for an EMSCULPT treatment is someone who would like to see more defined abdominal muscles, calves, buttocks, and arms that don’t have any copper located in their body. Patients who are interested should be at a healthy BMI weight with no excess skin in the areas treated.
Preparation
BBL
After your BBL you will not be able to sit or lay down on your back for more than 20-30 minutes at a time during the healing process, so it is important to prepare your home for your arrival before your surgery. It is also important to have a ride home scheduled. In addition, discontinue smoking and blood-thinning medications as these can cause complications during your procedure.
EMSCULPT
To prepare for an EMSCULPT treatment, there’s nothing in particular you need to do in addition to your daily tasks. That’s the beauty of EMSCULPT! You can come in for your 30 minute procedure and walk out without needing to prepare anything special or planning a ride home from our offices.
Procedure
BBL
After general or local anesthesia is administered and taken into effect, Dr. Zuhlke, MD, F.A.C.S will begin by using a cannula to extract fat cells from donor areas. Once the needed fat is extracted it will then be cleansed and purified. Next, a small incision will be made around the buttocks and thighs. The fatty tissue will then be inserted into the area to promote a bump in volume and shape. Next, once the incisions are carefully sutured, a compression garment will be given to be worn for the next couple weeks of recovery.
EMSCULPT
During your EMSCULPT procedure, all you have to do is come to our Denver office, lie down, and watch as the HIFEM technology begins to work. Most of our patients report feeling little to no discomfort or pain. During your 30 minute session, the target areas will contract repeatedly. Fat will be lost and muscle will be gained.
Recovery & Results
BBL
After a couple weeks of waiting for the body to adjust and accept the changes brought on by a BBL, your frame will look quite incredible. Your thighs will be fuller – fitting better into clothes. Your buttocks will be perched at a higher, sexier angle. Overall, your curves will look more naturally contoured in a can’t miss hourglass shape.
EMSCULPT
After your EMSCULPT treatment, it may take up to two weeks to notice the full results, but when you do you will see why so many of our clients choose EMSCULPT. Your target areas look transformed. The muscles are more toned, stronger, less loose with fatty tissue. Everything just looks healthier – helping you to look more fit!
