Ankle, Calf, and Knee Liposuction
Offered at our convenient location in Denver, CO
Ankle, calf, and knee liposuction is a surgical procedure designed to remove localized fat deposits around the ankles and knees.
These can also be troubling areas for those who struggle with excess fat. Stubborn fat deposits around the ankles, calves, and knees may develop due to genetics, hormonal changes, age, and other factors. For many individuals, the fat here does not seem to respond to proper diet and exercise habits. As such, they may be self-conscious about wearing shorts, skirts, or swimwear when there is excess fat in these areas. If you wish to address stubborn fat and sculpt your legs to your ideal image, you could be an ideal candidate for ankle, calf, and knee liposuction.
Advanced Body Sculpting Institute is one of the premier liposuction clinics in Colorado, having earned a reputation for excellence by serving the Denver area and beyond for years. Our practice specializes in numerous different types of liposuction treatments and techniques, including ankle, calf, and knee liposuction.

About Ankle, Calf, and Knee Liposuction
Liposuction is the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the United States. (1) It can be used to treat several different areas of the body; common areas include the abdomen, thighs, flanks, neck, and more.
Liposuction is not a weight loss treatment. Rather, it is intended to address stubborn fat deposits that do not respond to exercise or diet changes. The fat deposits around the ankles and knees, in particular, are considered to be more resistant to diet and exercise than other areas of the body for many individuals. (2) This body sculpting procedure helps individuals achieve a more toned, lean, and sculpted appearance. Many people seek liposuction in these areas to enhance their confidence, fit better into clothing, and improve their overall body contours.
Benefits
Ankle, calf, and knee liposuction offers numerous advantages to patients, including:
- Targeted Fat Removal: This procedure effectively eliminates localized fat deposits, sculpting the mid and lower leg areas.
- Enhanced Aesthetic Appearance: Patients typically see a slimmer and more defined silhouette, improving their overall body proportions.
- Increased Confidence: Many patients report a boost in self-esteem and confidence after achieving their desired look.
- Minimally Invasive Procedure: Liposuction involves small incisions and provides a reduced recovery time.
- Long-lasting Results: With lifestyle maintenance, the results from liposuction are generally permanent.
- Improved Body Contouring: Liposuction allows for the creation of smooth and natural-looking curves.
- Skin Tightening Benefits: Although not primarily a skin-tightening procedure, VASER liposuction has been associated with skin-tightening benefits.
To experience some of these benefits for yourself, contact our staff online or call (303) 708-8770 to schedule a consultation.

Preparation
After scheduling your procedure, we will provide you with detailed preoperative instructions to ensure a smooth procedure and recovery. You may need to discontinue medications or supplements with blood-thinning properties, stop nicotine use weeks in advance, and arrange for transportation home as well as at-home care for the initial recovery phase. Your safety and satisfaction are our priority, and following all the guidelines given to you will help facilitate a successful treatment process from start to finish.
Procedure
This procedure is typically performed in the OR instead of the minor room. We typically treat knees, calves, and ankles together.
The details of ankle, calf, and knee liposuction treatment might look different for each individual, but this procedure tends to follow a series of rather uniform steps. To begin most procedures, the surgeon will administer local anesthesia to ensure patient comfort.
The surgeon will make small incisions in discreet locations near the treatment areas, in this case, the ankles, knees, and calves. Using these incisions, they will inject a solution known as tumescent fluid–a combination of epinephrine, lidocaine, and saline–to further numb the area and swell the fat cells for easier removal. They will then insert a tube called a cannula and suction out unwanted fat. The VASER technology we use emulsifies the fat with ultrasound energy.
After achieving the desired contours, the surgeon will close the incisions and apply bandages to minimize swelling and support healing.
Recovery
The recovery process will vary for each individual, but most patients can expect swelling and bruising that typically subside within a few weeks. Our team will guide post-operative care, including effective swelling management and recommendations for safely resuming physical activities. Patients are usually able to resume normal activities within a few days, but should avoid strenuous physical activities until noted by their surgeon. Our team will be available to guide you through your recovery process and answer any questions you have.
Results
Patients who undergo ankle, calf, and knee liposuction tend to notice a more sculpted and contoured appearance throughout their legs almost immediately. This enhanced definition often leads to better-fitting clothing and improved confidence. While initial improvements will be visible as swelling subsides, the final results may take a few months to fully develop as the healing process unfolds.
Corresponding Procedures
Ankle, calf, and knee liposuction can be combined with other procedures to achieve comprehensive results. There are many different liposuction procedures we can perform, such as hip and waist liposuction or abdominal liposuction. If you are interested in additional procedures to pair with your liposuction treatment, our patient coordinators will be happy to provide recommendations based on your goals during your personal consultation.
