About Lymphatic Drainage with the Ballancer®Pro

The Ballancer®Pro is a recovery-focused treatment that uses pressotherapy techniques to improve your recovery time and experience after a surgical procedure. This powerful, calibrated compression therapy system can address several regions of the body at once using pressurized air chambers. The Ballancer®Pro features four different peristaltic (wave-like contractions) treatment modes and is the only lymphatic drainage treatment with a built-in pretreatment mode.

In just 20-60 minutes of treatment time, the device efficiently enhances our body’s ability to rid itself of excess water, toxins, and destroyed fat cells. (2) It pairs with our aesthetic procedures to reduce post-treatment swelling, expedite results, and break down scar tissue.

At-A-Glance Benefits

  • Improved Circulation: Improving blood flow is extremely beneficial after surgical procedures, as it helps minimize swelling and inflammation—it also optimizes results.
  • Alleviated Pain: This treatment can make recovery more comfortable, and it’s FDA-cleared for relieving discomfort.
  • Versatile Integration: Your specialist can easily integrate this treatment to address post-surgical concerns across several aesthetic procedures, such as liposuction, Brazilian butt lifts, or tummy tucks.
  • Highly Customizable: The suit is sensor-controlled and completely adjustable, with a graduated pressure of up to 80 mmHg.

Preparation

After scheduling your treatment, you will need to begin making certain preparations. These will be fairly straightforward, but you should still follow each one for the best effects. Your specialist may direct you to:

  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water leading up to your appointment, as proper hydration is essential for optimal lymphatic system function.
  • Eat Beforehand: Eat a light, nutritious meal a few hours before your treatment.
  • Avoid Alcohol: Refrain from consuming any alcohol before and after your appointment, as it can contribute to bloating or swelling.

The Ballancer®Pro Lymphatic Drainage Treatment Process

To perform lymphatic drainage with the Ballancer®Pro, your specialist will fit you into the two-piece suit that is equipped with 24 pressurized air chambers. The Ballancer®Pro suit covers the legs, hips, glutes, abdomen, and groin area—these regions are where the main lymphatic system is located. You will wear this suit throughout your appointment.

Once the treatment officially begins, the chambers of your suit will begin to inflate and deflate to provide gentle yet firm pressure to each region of your body. This pressure will improve your circulation, help process any retained fluid, relieve muscular aches (if applicable), and more.

Exact treatment duration may vary depending on the details of your case, but many patients can experience the benefits after just one treatment session. Many patients benefit from undergoing the recommended 5–10 treatments once a week.

Once the suit is done working, your specialist will remove the garment and walk you through the next steps before you head home.

Results

After your first appointment supporting your recovery with Ballancer®Pro, you may be able to enjoy some immediate effects of lymphatic drainage. However, long-term results may take time to develop as the lymphatic system works gradually. You will be able to notice diminished swelling, improvements in your circulation, reduced discomfort, and decreased fluid retention after your recommended treatment regimen.

For the best results, we often recommend that our patients undergo a series of 5–10 treatments about once a week.

FAQ

What is the difference between manual lymphatic drainage and the Ballancer®Pro?

Manual lymphatic drainage uses specialized massage techniques and strokes to manually address swelling and move excess fluid towards the lymph nodes. We used to offer this as our primary method of lymphatic drainage, but we are always staying up-to-date with the latest treatment innovations, which is why we are excited to offer advanced lymphatic drainage with the Ballancer®Pro at our practice. The Ballancer®Pro uses a suit that inflates and deflates air chambers to place gentle pressure on various regions of the body at once to provide all the benefits of traditional lymphatic drainage and more.

How long will my lymphatic drainage treatment take?

The duration of your lymphatic drainage treatment will vary depending on your unique needs. A consultation at our office will give you more insights into which session length will be best for your case.

How many treatment sessions will I need to undergo?

The number of treatment sessions you receive will vary, but most patients see the best results after a series of 5 to 10 treatment sessions after their surgical procedure, or approximately once per week.

Are there any side effects associated with the Ballancer®Pro?

You may experience some soreness or redness around the treated areas after your treatment, but these effects are transient and will subside on their own shortly after.

How soon after a surgical procedure can I undergo lymphatic drainage with the Ballancer®Pro?

This will vary depending on the details and complexity of your procedure; most patients are able to undergo lymphatic drainage once their surgeons have removed their stitches or drains from the treated areas.

Can I undergo lymphatic drainage with the Ballancer®Pro as a standalone treatment?

No, we do not offer this as a standalone treatment. We offer this treatment for recovery support after other procedures.
